Economic Development

The function of the Economic Development team is to promote and actively market available industrial and commercial land for development in the City of Ramsey. The development team works closely with the Economic Development Authority, who is equally involved in redevelopment projects, retaining existing businesses, and marketing the City's industrial land. The City/EDA is pro-active in supporting projects that assist in redeveloping blighted areas and can put together assistance packages that can help close financing gaps.

The Ramsey EDA hosts an annual Business Connection Meeting and a Business Appreciation Day which provide an effective channel of communication between the City and the business community. The Business Appreciation Day begins with a golf tournament and concludes with a dinner and the induction of a Ramsey Business into the Ramsey Economic Development Hall of Fame. The Ramsey Economic Development team consists of Aaron Backman, Economic Development/Marketing Manager; Heidi Nelson, Deputy City Administrator/Director of Community Development; and Mike Mulrooney, from Advance Consulting Group, Inc.
