Night to Unite is always the first Tuesday of every August. It continues to be an enjoyable night of activities and fun for our residents citywide, maintaining a focus on crime prevention and building a strong, safe community.
Through N2U, we work to:
Build strong, safe, united neighborhoods
Heighten crime prevention awareness
Strengthen police-community relationships
Planning a celebration event in your neighborhood can be as simple as turning on the outside lights of your house, locking your door and inviting your neighbors over to your front yard. In some neighborhoods, these celebrations have evolved into block parties, cookouts, potlucks, kiddie carnivals and bike / tractor parades.
It does not matter if you have five houses or 50 in your neighborhood celebration. This is a great excuse for just spending time with your family and neighbors. Find out what everyone has been doing over the summer as your kids wait for police squads, fire trucks, McGruff and Scruff to stop by.
Each registered event in Ramsey will receive one coordinator t-shirt and free crime prevention materials, compliments of the Ramsey Police Department. Registration deadline is July 12, 2019.
If you have questions regarding Night to Unite or registering your block party, please contact Officer Cory Gardner at 763-433-9891 or email Cory Gardner.
The City of Ramsey officially switched to Night to Unite, from National Night Out in 2008. The concept is identical to National Night Out, however, it is sponsored locally by the Minnesota Crime Prevention Association and other Minnesota organizations. Some of the benefits include no membership fee and free use of the Night to Unite logo (unchanging from year to year).
